"ICAPS" - J&L’s advantage in administering warranty claims!
Our GM warranty claims processing department utilizes a sophisticated software program operated by experienced personnel who know warranty. We call it “ICAPS” which is short for: Interactive Claims Analysis & Processing System.
Why this software can’t be beat: When data from a warranty claim is entered into the proprietary warranty claims processing software it goes through a series of checks and edits much like the manufacturer. This allows us to process warranty claims electronically with amazing speed and accuracy resulting in quality work with a high first time paid rate.
The warranty claim processing software has many advantages:
- Maintains complete repair order and VIN history
- Each VIN is verified via GMVIS and factory information is retained in our system
- Checks for overlaps and tracks shop comebacks
- Alerts to odometer rollbacks
- Prevents “out of warranty” claims submission
- Ensures accurate labor operation assignments
- Eliminates misuse of self authorization codes
- Monitors dealer expense for current months, utilizing the same parameters as the manufacturer’s reports
- Provides parts scrapping report for dealership
- Monitors sublet charges to eliminate overcharges
- Monitors repair versus replacement costs
- Each part is checked for current pricing and the proper markup
- Most current parts pricing and labor time is obtained direct from General Motors
- Alerts to repeat repairs
- Technician time and most frequently used labor operations among other data, are monitored to identify any areas of high expense
Vehicle history: Unfortunately, we find that vehicle history checks are not standard procedure in most dealerships. So we provide this service for you.
- We have the capability to download all dealer specific vehicle history information for the previous six months into our computer system direct from the factory. This information is used in conjunction with the analysis features of our warranty claims processing software, allowing us to quickly identify existing problem areas such as repeat repairs.
- Incoming repair orders are checked for mileage, mileage history, warranty eligibility, open recalls, and blocked/salvage title utilizing the manufacturer’s vehicle information website. Any repair orders with open recalls are immediately flagged for dealership action, helping to complete all necessary warranty actions.
- Performing a complete vehicle history check also allows us to properly code the warranty claims depending on specific vehicle options.
