Warranty Extensions
Once a manufacturer or distributor informs a dealer of an adjustment
program, the dealer must disclose its existence, along with
the terms and conditions, to any consumer seeking repairs for
the same condition. The states of California, Connecticut, Virginia,
and Wisconsin have laws requiring manufacturers to inform all
customers of any adjustment program pertaining to their vehicle.
Warranty Extensions - repairs beyond the warranty period as
specified by the manufacturer that are non-safety related. If
a covered repair has been previously performed and paid for
by the customer, then most warranty extensions have provisions
to reimburse the customer if original repair bills can be produced.
Following is a partial list of known warranty extensions
by manufacturer. When in doubt, or for clarification, contact
a dealership or the manufacturer.
